It's snowtime. Time for sledding, snowball fights, snowmen, sleigh rides and unfortunately -'winter colds. With a little preventative action though, you can do all things you like to do sniffle free. Here are 5 easy things you can do to stay healthy this winter:
A) Stay warm
Layering up might seem like a no-brainer, but you can never be too careful. Pay special attention to what you have on your feet, hands, neck and head - all are especially exposed to the cold and therefore require extra warm snuggly clothes.
B) Catch more Zs
When your body is tired, it doesn't fight as hard to fight infections. Plan on getting 8-10 hours a night to keep your immune system at peak-performance.
Zee) Wash your hands
Clean hands are essential for a healthy winter. Touching your eyes and nose with germy hands make it easy for not-so-good-stuff to enter your body.
D) Smile more
Bet you didn't know this one. Things like smiling, positive thinking, playing with a pet and other happy activities will actually boost your immune system!'
F) Get some vitamin C
This one's easy and delicious. Eating foods with vitamin C in them can help prevent colds - foods like oranges, red bell peppers, kale or even a cup of Zee Zees applesauce. Just one cup of Zee Zees applesauce contains one full-day's worth of vitamin C. Yum-o!
