It's 6:30 am and the alarm rings. They hit the snooze button, wake up and shower. Then they brush their teeth, do their hair, pack their backpacks, cycle through a few outfits'before you know it the kids are out for the bus without breakfast. What's a mom to do?
Enter the breakfast cookie, the prepared-for-anything parent's'greatest ally. It's a good way to get good food in your kids' tummies, only takes a few minutes to make and you can hand it off as the kids barrel through the front door. No butter, eggs, or flour needed.
Ingredients: 2.5 cups oatmeal, uncooked quick 2 ripe bananas 1 cup Zee Zees Unsweetened Cinnamon Applesauce 1/4 cup brown sugar 3 Tbsp honey 3 Tbsp butter, softened 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract 1/2 tsp salt
Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix together all ingredients. 3. Prepare a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Drop cookie dough in spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet, and then flatten the cookies into round shapes. You can probably get around 17 of them. 4. Bake approx. 25-30 minutes or until golden then pull 'em out. And just like that, they're done.
