One day a trio of Zee Zees were out walking when they came across a very interesting poster for a local event taking place that day. "What's a carnival?" asked Zippee. "I don't know, but it looks like it might be a lot of fun!" said Grizlee. "Perhaps we should investigate this 'carnival' to learn more about our Earth friends' culture." said Zoomer. Zippee explained that, though it did indeed sound like it would be fun, he had a race to run in later that day, and wasn't sure he would have time to go. Grizlee teased him by saying, "C'mon Zippee, you're the fastest Zee Zee alive, I think you can do both. Besides, I also have a new trail I want to explore later, so I couldn't stay long either." Zoomer chimed in, "I too have some repairs I must make to the Applesaucer today, so I will make sure we keep track of time." Zippee agreed to go, and as they walked towards the carnival, Zippee said, "I sure hope they have food there, we haven't had any lunch yet!"
Grizlee asked the human selling tickets at the carnival's entrance where they could find some food. "Oh, you fellas are in for a real treat!" the carnival worker said. "We've got some delicious junk food over in our Midway section over there by all the games." Grizlee thanked the carnival worker for his recommendation and he and his Zee Zee pals began making their way toward the Midway. As they walked, Zippee asked his two friends, "Do either of you know what junk food is?" Zoomer shook her head and replied, "I don't know, but the word 'junk food' doesn't sound very good, I am not sure we should eat it." Grizlee explained to his friends, "But we're all super hungry, and the carnival worker said it was good, so how bad could it be?" They all agreed, and walked towards a large sign that read, "Corndogs! Fried Funnel Cakes! and Extra-Large Sodas!" An hour later, they were leaving the carnival, and the trio of Zee Zees agreed that they all had a pretty good time. Zoomer said, "I really liked the Ferris wheel." Zippee said, "I really liked the games! Thanks for winning me that giant stuffed teddy bear Grizlee!" Grizlee just smiled, but Zippee and Zoomer could tell something was bothering him. "What's wrong?" they asked in unison. Grizlee said to his friends, "I don't feel so good, my stomach is feeling a little queasy." Zippee replied, "I'm actually not feeling so great either." Zoomer postulated a theory to them, "I also am not feeling my best. Perhaps it was the carnival ride that spun us around in circles." The other two Zee Zees thought that was a pretty good explanation, and let it go at that. Zippee said "Well guys, I guess I better get going to my race now, wish me luck, I think I'm gonna need it!" Zoomer and Grizlee wished him luck and both silently thought to themselves they could use some of that luck for their afternoon activities too. They said goodbye to one another, and the three Zee Zees went off in their separate directions. The three Zee Zees met again later that evening in the cafeteria of the Applesaucer. They were all moving pretty slow, and looked very tired. Zoomer asked Zippee how he did in the race. "Terrible," Zippee replied, "I felt like I had no energy, and I got a cramp in my leg halfway through the race and had to withdraw. That's never happened to me before." Grizlee nodded in agreement and said, "I felt the same way. I went out to explore that new trail, but when I got there, I felt so tired and unmotivated that I decided to take a nap instead and by the time I woke up it was nearly dark. So I didn't really get to explore anything at all." With her one eye nearly half shut, Zoomer explained that her planned afternoon of making repairs to the Applesaucer also didn't quite go as planned. "I set out to install a new warp drive to the ship, but I could not stay focused on my task, and ended up doing absolutely nothing." As the three Zee Zees discussed their day, Mezlo, the Zee Zees chef overheard their conversation and realized instantly what the problem was. He asked them, "If you three don't mind me asking, what exactly did you have to eat today?" The three Zee Zees told Mezlo all about the junk food they had eaten at the carnival. Mezlo shook his head and replied, "You see gang, junk food is usually very high in fat and sugar, and lacks important nutrients. Your body needs proper nutrients to help you focus and have long-lasting energy." The three Zee Zees listened to Mezlo, and almost instantly, they replied in unison how much they preferred their nutritious snacks that helped them explore, run, and play. Mezlo just laughed and replied, "Who wants some applesauce?" Interested in purchasing Zee Zees snacks? Visit amazon.com/zeezees!
