National Fritters Day: Recipe with Zee Zees Ingredients
All is pear in love and Zee Zees. Celebrate National Fritters Day with these delicious treats mixed up by Zacky and Chef Mezlo!
Apple-Pear Fritters
Yield 32 Fritters
¾ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup plain Greek yogurt

Zee Zees Unsweetened Cinnamon Applesauce Cup
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Zee Zees Diced Pear Cups
, drained and crushed
Powdered sugar for sprinkling
Caramel sauce for dipping, optional
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly coat the cups of a mini muffin pan with cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl beat the sugar and butter together until fluffy. Beat in the egg followed by the vanilla. Add the yogurt and applesauce and beat until well combined.
3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg, stir with a whisk. Add to the liquid mixture and gently fold together with a rubber spatula until the batter comes together. Gently fold in the pears.
4. Fill the cups of muffin pan with a #40 scoop, or about 1 tablespoon, of batter.
5. Bake at 350 for 15-17 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove fritters from oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool. Dust the tops with powdered sugar and serve with caramel sauce.
