Explore how the Zee Zees celebrate lots of different holidays and fun times together.
For just about every kid on Earth, there are many reasons to love a good snow day – no school, no homework, and no limit to the possibilities. But for the Zee Zees, who came to our Earth from a galaxy far, far away, their first snow day was extra exciting. You see on Planet Z, they don’t have winters. Being a tropical climate, they had never even seen snow before, so you can imagine their surprise when they woke up early one morning to find thousands upon thousands of tiny frozen flakes falling from the sky. As a big group of excited Zee Zees ran outside the Applesaucer to see what was happening, many could be heard shouting “What’z that stuff?!!” to one another.
As the holiday season approached the Zee Zees got together and decided that they would like to throw their own holiday party. To make sure they threw the best part ever, they wanted to include as many different holiday traditions from all across the Earth as they could. So when it came to picking the perfect Zee Zee to go on an exploratory mission to learn about all the different holiday traditions across Earth, everybody knew there was only one Zee Zee that was right for the job – Jozen, the master of many things.
If you had to describe the first day of winter to someone from another planet how would you describe it? Cold? Snowy? Cloudy? If you live in a warmer climate, maybe more rain? Those things paint a picture of what winter is—but what does winter really feel like? The Zee Zees, who are still very new to the weather and happenings of Earth, might need some clarification. With the first official day of winter just around the corner (December 21st) we’ve prepared a list of firsts to jog your memory.
Nothing sets the holiday mood like building a good ol’ fashioned gingerbread house, especially when you’re the Zee Zees. They may be new to Earth, but there’s nothing they love more than sharing something new they’ve learned with everyone they meet. The Zee Zees love to use their imagination, so they’ve put their own unique spin on the traditional gingerbread house and built their very own Zee Zee gingerbread house. They’ve included a great template that you can print to build your very own. Just remember, the only limitation for building yours is your own imagination. Have fun!
On a recent November afternoon, the Zee Zees resident history buff, Liza was hanging out with a couple of her human pals, Andrew and Erin, learning more about the history of Planet Earth. It had been a fun afternoon of exploring the local history museum, and then going to the library afterwards to check out a few books on the background of some of the exhibits they had seen. As her human friends walked her back home to the Applesaucer, they casually asked her what her plans were for Thanksgiving.
There are a couple kinds of treat givers. You’ve got your classic candy houses, the chip houses, the king-size houses, the popcorn ball houses, the money houses, and of course the ‘take one piece’ candy bowl houses. The Zee Zees haven’t been on Earth for all that long, but they’ve been around long enough to know that there’s room for a new kind of house on the block. The Soft Baked Bar kind of house. For the Zee Zees, this new kind of treat-giving is no trick—they’re doing it up right.
