If you take a look outside your window, you might find some very interesting signs that better weather is right around the corner - birds are chirping, flowers are blooming'and the Zee Zees are zeezing. That's right, our favorite pals from Planet Z are about to catch a serious case of Spring Break fever and take the Apple Saucer out for a joyride on an incredible intergalactic road trip.
The first stop on the Zee Zee vacation voyage is about 39,000 miles away at a little place we like to call the Moon. The Zee Zee gang has been really wanting to visit ever since they first passed it on the way to Earth. They heard they have a great beach up there right on the Sea of Tranquility. Don't worry, they know there's not actually any water on the Moon, they just want to hang out and catch some rays and soak up the sunshine. We hope they bring some serious sunscreen with them though, because it can get seriously hot up there. When the sun shines directly on the moon, the temperature can get up to 253 degrees Fahrenheit ' better pack the SPF 1000! The next destination is a definite hot spot on the universal getaway list. It's called Mercury, and if you thought the Moon was sizzling - at 801 degrees Fahrenheit, the first planet from the sun just might be too hot for humans to handle. On the other hand, Mercury does have a pretty cool nightlife scene, and by pretty cool, we mean absolutely freezing. At -279 degrees Fahrenheit, it's definitely a great place to chill for the evening. If the Zee Zees get there and aren't sure if they prefer the planet on the hot side or the cold side, the good news is they have a lot of time to make up their minds ' since Mercury rotates on its central axis so slowly, a full day there lasts the equivalent of 176 Earth Days! The final stop on this outer space expedition is Pluto. It's a pretty far out place, meaning it's almost on the very edge of the solar system. To get there, the Zee Zees are parking the Saucer and hitching a ride on the interstellar version of a taxi - a comet. Since Pluto is no longer considered a full sized planet, but rather a dwarf planet, tourism there has taken a steep decline since it was downgraded in 2006. This works out perfectly for the Zee Zees though, because they absolutely love wide open spaces. It's also a great place for those that like to take their vacations near the water because Pluto has over 3 times the amount of that Earth does. The bad news is that all the water is frozen, so even though they won't be doing any water skiing, they will have plenty of room to partner up and practice their competitive figure skating. After their spectacular spring break adventure, the Zee Zees are totally relaxed and ready to get down to Earth to help hungry kids everywhere eat better and have fun doing it.
